Executive Medical Science Liaison (Location Flexible – West, Central or Southeast US)

PTx has worldwide rights to Leukine® (sargramostim).  As the only FDA approved GM-CSF available in the U.S., we believe Leukine offers important and differentiated benefits to cancer patients and are excited by the opportunity to effectively re-introduce it to the hematology/oncology community with its current label and potential future expansion indications.  Leukine is also the subject of significant scientific interest with multiple ongoing clinical trials.

  • Develop and maintain scientific relationships with thought leaders in academic and clinical centers based on focused engagement plans, while developing a strong understanding of clinical practice as it relates to areas of interest for PTx.

  • Adept at providing scientifically sound, fair-balanced and timely responses to unsolicited requests for medical information.

  • Support clinical studies and data collection initiatives (including investigator sponsored trials, company sponsored trials and advisory boards) to better establish the safety, efficacy, and commercial viability of PTx products.

  • Deliver clear, concise, evidence-based presentations in a variety of clinical and scientific settings, including but not limited to internal meetings, advisory boards, investigator meetings, payer discussions, academic/group practice/individual discussions and other venues.

  • Proactively gather insights and provide feedback to cross-functional teams to facilitate a deeper understanding of the unmet needs of patients, HCPs, institutions, policy makers and payers.

  • Support all Medical Affairs strategies and tactics associated with PTx products including active participation in publication projects.

  • Maintain clinical and scientific expertise through aggressive self-education, including but not limited to, attendance at relevant congresses, symposia, scientific workshops and through review of key journals.

  • Participate in territory planning including input into the overall medical affairs plan.

  • Facilitate speaker training and development in compliance with PTx policies.

  • Represent Medical Affairs at scientific/medical symposia, industry councils, and internal meetings as requested.

  • Provide training, coaching and mentoring to peers and colleagues as needed.

  • Uphold the highest standards of integrity and ethics; conduct all activities in compliance with legal/regulatory requirements and PTx policies.


  • Strong orientation toward the patient, customer service, and teamwork.  Commitment and passion for fighting cancer and improving patients’ lives.

  • Hematology/Oncology experience required

  • 5+ years previous MSL experience required

  • Advanced Clinical/Scientific degree preferred (PharmD, PhD, MD/DO or equivalent)

  • Proven record of developing strong scientific relationships with KOLs/investigators and providing market intelligence and feedback

  • Sound judgement to ensure integrity and compliance with company policies in all activities and communications

  • Outstanding interpersonal, presentation and communication skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, team-oriented environment

  • Entrepreneurial spirit – experience with small biotech organizations and start-ups is a plus.

  • Flexibility – can adapt to changing direction as our market knowledge expands

  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the time in a large but focused territory as part of a small team

  • Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  Compensation will be comprised of a base salary, performance bonus, equity, and a profit sharing program.  PTx offers a competitive benefit program, including health, vision, and dental insurance, life insurance, a 401(k) matching program, and paid time off.
